FannDrop helps artists share their earliest work and lets fans support them from the start. It gives creators a seamless way to create, publish, and connect with their audience.
The opportunity
Instagram is for polished content. Streaming platforms are for finished music. This leaves a huge gap for the rough, uncut process between the first spark of inspiration and the final release, where creativity actually takes shape. FannDrop Create is designed for everything in between.
As one half of a two-person design team, I worked on a couple of key features, including Create. I designed how artists create and share their work, from work-in-progress content to finished work, turning moments of inspiration into engaging experiences for their fans.

My role
I owned the design strategy and execution for FannDrop Create, shaping the tools artists use to publish content and engage their communities.
Architected the core creator experience, designing workflows for audio posts, video posts, stories, polls, and crowdfunding campaigns
Established a cohesive content creation framework that enabled artists to share updates, raise project funding, and foster stronger fan relationships from a single platform
Collaborated cross-functionally with product managers and engineers to define feature requirements, prioritise user needs, and ensure high-quality implementation
Facilitated continuous feedback loops through prototypes and design reviews, influencing product direction and feature evolution
Created scalable and intuitive creator experiences that increased engagement opportunities while supporting business objectives for retention and revenue growth

Balancing creator expression with platform structure
Every post on FannDrop required two competing needs to coexist. Artists needed the freedom to publish content quickly, while the platform needed structured metadata such as genre, vibe, credits, and album relationships to support discovery, recommendation, and content organisation.
The challenge was ensuring these platform requirements didn't become barriers to creation. Exposing every field upfront increased form complexity and forced unnecessary decisions before artists could do what they came to do: share music.
The approach
Rather than designing a traditional upload form, I reframed the experience around a guided publishing workflow. I requested information progressively throughout the journey, letting artists focus on one decision at a time while maintaining momentum toward publication. Optional actions, such as linking an existing album, were embedded contextually within the flow rather than presented as mandatory configuration steps.
By reducing cognitive overhead and aligning the experience with an artist's natural publishing behaviour, the final solution made content creation feel fast and intuitive while preserving the structured data needed to power the broader FannDrop ecosystem.

Helping artists turn ideas into funded projects
Campaigns enabled artists to fund projects such as albums, music videos, and tours directly through their community. The challenge was balancing a simple creation experience with the safeguards needed to protect the platform from misuse and fraudulent activity.
To achieve this, I designed a guided campaign flow that embedded rules and eligibility requirements directly into the creation journey, helping artists understand expectations without overwhelming them with policy. I also introduced localised fundraising targets, allowing creators to see the value of the Drops they wanted to raise in familiar currencies such as NGN or USD. This made campaign goals easier to understand, more tangible to plan around, and more transparent from the outset.

Key design decisions
Unified content creation into a single, flexible flow that supported audio posts, video posts, campaigns, stories, and polls.
Reduced publishing friction by tailoring creation steps to each content type while maintaining a consistent experience.
Designed campaigns as a natural extension of content creation, enabling artists to raise funds without switching contexts.
Prioritised speed and clarity through progressive disclosure, keeping advanced options available without overwhelming creators.
Established a scalable creation framework that could support new content formats as the platform evolved.
Outcome
The final experience enabled artists to create and share different types of content through a consistent, cohesive, and intuitive workflow. Whether publishing music, launching campaigns, sharing stories, or engaging fans through polls, creators could move from idea to publication with minimal friction.
Designed to balance flexibility with simplicity, FannDrop Create turned an intricate set of publishing tools into a streamlined creation ecosystem that encouraged expression, increased engagement, and supported the needs of budding artists.
By unifying multiple content formats within a scalable creation framework, I helped turn FannDrop Create into an intuitive publishing experience that empowered artists to create, engage, and fund their work with ease.
